It's been a while!

I've been grabbing chances to eat McDonald's, especially eating the new releases. I believe I'eve eaten just about any burgers they have with exception to most of the breakfast ones. So here are the burgers I've eaten and my small review of them. This is written an average of 1 month after eating them.

Chicken McGrill: Just tastes good, and the portion is big too. I was a little surprised it costs more than a Big Mac, the marinate is really to my liking and I very quickly gobbled it up ha ha. It definitely is on par if not better compared tot he Big Mac in terms of portioon size, taste wise, it'll have to depend if you prefer beef or chicken. I'll be leaning toward the Chicken McGrill for now, the only gripe is, it being a chicken, might be a llittle irritating to tear the meat unlike beef which practically can be torn into any shape and size.

Big N' Tasty: From what I remember a Big Mac tasting like, these two are just about the same, except Big N' Tasty has certain parts that tastes really good, from the cheese I guess? I'd lean toward Big Mac for this in terms of both taste and portion size. Girls, or people with smaller appetiates may opt for this to taste a Big Mac without their stomachs exploding.

Quarter Pounder: Not my taste. It tastes just like a Big Mac but with pickles or something which I think really steals the attention away from the beef. I cross this out of my choice.

Sausage McMuffin with Egg: Ate this after my marathon run, I'm not sure how that will affect my taste buds but I was completely blown away by this burger. I used to go with the default Big Breakfast, Big Breakfast, Big Breakfast, in the event that I do eat my breakfast at McDonald's, but now, this will be my choice. The portion for this can rival the Big Breakfast. People who wants to be able to eat their burgers without caring much probably should take the McMuffin without egg.

There are definitely more burgers for me to try, but I'll be taking my time as I don't want to spent a huge deal of money just trying out burgers from McDonald's. I'll eat them as opportunities present. I'm mostly missing the breakfast burgers, and if I'm not wrong a Mushroom Mcgrill or something? I'll have to see!

Alright, I've finally managed to finish importing all my old diary entries from the previous websites into this one. You can take your time to read all of them now. Whoa, was a major headache having to first import into Word to clean up all the codes from my older platform of Flash. Then couldn't solve the problem of formatting when imported into Dreamweaver. Only 2 days ago did I manage to find a "Paste as text only" option, and now I've got everything here...awesome!

I believe you guys will know where to look for them :)

Hm...interesting...so she says she has no feelings for me...I half expected that answer, but seriously, if you ask me, I don't completely buy it. And it's not denial as you would say. It's my conclusion derived from analysis. She can't be doing all she did without feeling anything for me, and if that is true, then a girl's mind is something I have yet to fathom....but as of now, I'm not buying it yet. What am I going to do in the meantime? I'm just going to stand where I am, maybe back off a little and continue observing. Till then!

When I made her angry the other night, or at least that's what I think I did, I was so relieved when I rectified it. Then last night, I must have made her feel less than happy again...I am so sorry, I didn't mean to. I am not a good talker. With my perfectionist streak, in pursuit of formulating the "right words", I usually take too long a time to get things across...I made her wait so long for my reply...I don't like leaving these things to a text/phone conversation, being so dodgey on the issue must have made her unhappy...I must get this straightened quickly. Sigh :(

No way....no way no way....unbelievable....I simply cannot believe it...not at a time like this!? If it was like a month ago...then yeah I probably can...but not this time, not this juncture, it's already too late...not when I've almost blatantly told her I like her!? There is no other apt words to describe what I'm feeling now but this chinese idiom 进退两难. I won't be able to get over myself...it's like pulling her along, and then all of a sudden telling her she can go home....what!? No way I can get over myself toying with her like that....shit...shit!

I wonder if my hearing is fail or her voice is simply easily drowned out, but I'd prefer it to be that way as I'll be forced to lean in so close to her to hear her speak :) But to be honest, sometimes I feel bad to make her have to say the same things over and over again so I can catch what she's saying...she don't seem to be irritated that she has to keep repeating herself, but I am irritated at myself that I have to keep saying "Huh?", "What?", "Sorry?", "Say again?" and make her repeat herself.

And as I recall, I don't think I've ever heard her call out to me once, it's always either me seeing she wants to say something, or her touching me to get my attention. Seriously...I think my hearing is like epic fail hahaha.

And the most epic fail thing is, when she talks to me while looking at me, even though I may the only one there, I'll assume she's talking to someone behind me. Like I'm so retarded to realise so slowly that she is talking to me and I have to ask "Me?" What the heck!?

Oh oh oh...what did I just do? It's no longer hints, make or break, it all hinges on these moments now. I am feeling jittery, what if I fail, what if I scare her away, but, like I've told myself before, "I win". Just like from the beginning, I am facing stiff competition, but, "I win".

The time of August/September is drawing near. It is also when Canon usually launch their new products. Have been thinking of getting a new camera with better capabilities and image quality compared to my current one that is not even mine. And this year, the big draw with Canon is a nice improvement to their lineup, especially with the S100 which is the current S95's replacement. Plus the G13 which will succeed the current G12. These 2 will be a big leap forward compared to their predecessor and definitely is something to look out for. Of course, those being compact cameras, they are not as powerful as a DSLR, one of which I am targetting would be the EOS 60D. And from here, you can see that I'm a Canon fan haha.

From the first time I held and shot a DSLR for a random stranger in church, I knew that DSLR is the way to photography, but it always is the size and bulk that is the drag, sure the weight is very much dependant on the lens you carry, but their size simply can't be ignored. DSLRs can only be carried in a bag, or hung from the shoulders or neck, unlike compact cameras that are usually pocketable. There are also small DSLRs but really, I might as well get a powerful compact if I were to get a small DSLR.

So right now it's the S100 vs G13 vs 60D. And they are also just coincidentally lined up from the smallest and lightest to the heaviest, and the least to the most control. The below comparison is based upon the predecessors with exception to the 60D which already exist.

Strengths of the S100: Most compact, extremely pocketable, good image quality.
Cons of the S100: Least control offered.

Strenghts of the G13: Good image quality, many controls within reach.
Cons of the S100: Hinging on the brink of un-pocketability.

Strenghts of the 60D: Image Quality.
Cons of the 60D: Size.

Really, it always has been a huge struggle for me choosing between these 3 cameras. Currently my heart is being pulled towards the S100, which is strange when I've always favored the G13. The core reason being, a good camera is one that is with you, the S100 is going to be extremely easy to carry, so that'll definitely have no problems being with me all the time....oh well...I'll just have to see what the reviews say...and of course, being new products, they'll be expensive like mad...

Sigh...am I sending mixed signals to her? When I am separated from her, I keep thinking of how I want to be with her, and yet in her presence, I keep shying away...argh~~~!!! Now that I am sure she has feelings for me, and that I do have feelings for her too, the only question is when and how do I tell her.

Though I just dropped a huge hint to her recently, and I believe she understood, I'm just kinda scared that I might be giving the impression that I'm just "playing" with her, due to the stark difference in my behavior between the online and offline me.

There always will be two sides to a coin, patience and passivity are things I have, and have kept me out of harm's way many times, but in this case, they are the source of my agony...as I recall, the one time I confessed to a girl, that was one-sided from me and yet I still did it. The justification then was I had nothing to lose. But now, I will have something to lose if it fails, but then again, it shouldn't fail, so what's stopping me? Gosh! ARGH~~~~!!!!!

I want to stand with her, I want to hold her hands, I want to hug her, I want to pat her head!!!!!

Too fast to hold hands now? Too quick for a kiss now? Even though in my mind I think that pace is not a big issue, it's my instinct that stops me from doing those stuff that quick...when she comes close to me, I will have a natural urge to step back and though I wish I can stay, my body will just move itself. Also, if I'm so aggressive and hold her hands now and scare her off, that's like shooting myself in the foot...

Even though I can feel that it won't be a problem, there's just this barrier that I can't break....sheesh.....Fortune favors the bold, I like that saying, but will fortune shine upon my boldness at the time of calling??

And I know, the major problem lies with me....

But I was just way lazy to get up to check, it was sleep time man....so I was thinking how awkward it's going to be if she reads my last two posts...it's fine if she knows, and manages to act like she doesn't know, the worst is if she knows, and acts like she doesn't, but that "know" part was leaking through her behavior.....

So when I woke up this morning, I was like "Go check" and my relief, turns out that I'm safe....but am I really sure I'm safe? I ran a check and I'm quite sure I'm safe....hahaha lol.....there is that slight vulnerability, but generally, if all things go smoothly, I should be safe for forever :D

Infatuation...driving me crazy...between our first meeting and first interaction, it's unbelievably crazy, the coincidence is just unbelievable. I didn't really took much interest in her when we first met, but then the things she does...I don't know if I'm reading too much into it, but I'm guessing that she has an interest in me. That's when my mind started battling furiously. Looking within a short term, if going by her physical attributes, I can drop her off without a doubt, but if considering character, then I can accept her easily. But, I rarely base decisions upon short-termed insight, so, if I look far ahead, I cannot accept an "intrusion" at a time like this.

So the big question I believe most will ask is this, "Do I fancy her?" And my answer is, I will hesitate to say "No". Even though I've kicked off the feeling of infatuation and I can remain neutral towards her without problems, thoughts of her will just creep into my mind...pretty much constantly. Plus with her now climbing to my most contacted spot, hearing my phone beep, and seeing her name is just...sweet. Her randomness is just funnily attractive haha...one of the few girls that tempts me into wanting a relationship....5 years of my intelligent life, she's the second.

Ah well....I guess I'll just leave it and see what happens..anyway, just a disclaimer, it's very easy to climb into my most contacted spot. Just send me 1 SMSes a day, and you'll clinch the spot, so it's no big deal, not like she sends 100 messages or some crap. Damn....putting this up on public space...if she manages to find this, it'll be real obvious that I'm talking about her...then it'll be awkward....haha...

Back a few days ago, I was thinking about ghosts, and those that I have seen. As I recall, strangely, they've all been females. That led me to wonder, is it because of females' deeper emotions that pushes the probability of them staying higher? And also, strangely enough, I've seen them as portrayed by the media, long white gown, black hair...not aggressive, that's good....the last I saw left the deepest impression as she was just standing in the middle of the car park unmoving, as the last rites, assumingly for her, was performed. She then just disappeared....it was so serene...

Training partners, promoted by most as motivation for keeping fit, such as doing a run. Not for me though...I think I tend to slack more when there's a training partner haha...the only thing that motivates me to perform is competition. Seeing someone whom I don't know running, that'll motivate me to catch up, if it's someone I already know, that competitive spirit in me just withers...it's weird though, how the same thing affects me differently. In my game of StarCraft, even with competition so stiff, I still find myself needing a training partner...

I might mess around live broadcasting of my games....wonder how many viewership I'll get...

Back to blogging a little more by "popular" demand.

Last night, after alighting from a bus heading home, walking to cross the road via an overhead bridge, I looked across and saw a girl walking down the aforementioned bridge. That by itself is a very rare sight, especially late at night. As I watched her, I saw her heading turning left, and I thought "Oh holy...she's insane!" Now to put things into perspective, heading left from her position, will bring her into Bedok Town Park, a park that seems peaceful in the day. But come night, after 8pm, serenity becomes creepy and the whole park has a very eerie atmosphere. And human traffic in the park becomes almost non-existent, and that was where I was heading too.

And being me, a fast walker, I set a goal to catch up to her, seemed reasonable, the distance was afterall, only one bridge's worth. But after crossing the bridge, I looked and I was like "Where'd she go?" So after 5 seconds of scanning, I located her and proceeded on catching up, and I immediately knew she was trying her best to get the hell outta there as fast as possible, because I couldn't catch up at all. Though I may be gaining, it was so miniscule that I will not call it catching up. So when did I significantly close the gap? It was after she reached the second bridge then she slowed down.

Was walking through Suntec City for church service, and there was this booth set up, whatever for, I have no idea, something along promoting gaming from a brochure I received. Sex sells, a very prevalent phenomenon, I thought I have pretty much steeled my mind to not fall for such bullshit, until today. So I was walking and got closer to this booth, there were 2 girls giving out brochures. When I saw them, my brain said "Ignore and walk on" but when I got slightly closer and spotted the second girl, without much scrutinity, it was after all a 2-second glance, all of her physical attributes matched my ideal, and must have short-circuited part of my brain. So yes, I did manage to walk past the first girl. But came the second girl who handed me the brochure with a slight lowering of her body, it was my peripheral vision that caught all these as I was looking straight by the way, my hand moved to take the brochure, all the while with my brain saying "Ignore and move on"!

I don't know how many of you have these out of control movements, as a heavy gamer, I frequently encounter such phenomenon where you are doing things without much conscience input whether for good or for worse. I was pretty surprised that that could happen to me when not gaming...wow....sex sells...

Last night, I was browsing through the TV program list, and I came upon the title "Secrets of the Cross" on National Geographic Channel. Now, even though I pretty much already know what it is going to be on, still I questioned "What cross?"

I don't know if the program is supposed to be recent or a re-run, it starts off with the usual "Unable to find hard evidence proving existence of biblical events or characters", until about 10 minutes into the show, where the existence of Pontius Pilate was confirmed, that was interesting. The show went on to introduce the main characters, Pilate and Jesus, how they met and the other good stuff. The main thing that made me think deeper was when Jesus and Pilate met.

Now, during the face off, Pilate had found Jesus innocent and intended on releasing him. But it was the Jewish priests who wanted Jesus to be crucified. So, taking that established fact, why is it that Pilate is portrayed as the bad guy, as quoted from The Apostles' Creed "(He) suffered under Pontius Pilate..." It is true that Jesus suffered under Roman law, and it also is true that Pilate was the one who initiated the order, but, that came from pressure from the Jewish priests. Plus it also is recorded that Pilate washed his hands as a symbolic act that he is absolved of spilling of innocent blood and that guilt was carried by the Jews present.

So why is Pilate being understood as the "bad guy" as from the The Apostles' Creed, shouldn't it be written as "(He) suffered under Jewish Law" for instance, based on the facts seen here. Or is it because, Pilate didn't exercise his authority as governer to release Jesus than Barabbas for fear of a riot. Or is it of his choice of prisoner, because by choosing, and putting Barabbas into the picture, the Jews now have 2 "Jesuses", and 2 "Son of the father" to choose from. From Pilate's point of view, it is obvious that he wanted the crowd to choose Jesus, being an obvious choice, an innocent man versus a notorious rebel. But from the Jewish point of view. It probably is understood that they had hoped that Jesus Christ would free them from Roman oppression, in which He didn't do, but instead preached of love and compassion, which probably brought disdain toward Him, and gave more hope into Barabbas, who, being a notorious rebel, have a higher chance of overthrowing the Roman power present.

So what is the deal that gave Pilate the bad name rather than the Jewish leaders. Could the story be written as a parable itself that the world would choose for itself a "Son of the (worldly) Father" than a "Son of the (Heavenly) Father"? Are there pieces of a puzzle missing that require extensive research? Enlighten me.

Real lazy to be typing stuff here. There aren't a lot of readers anyway.

To be honest, I seriously think that smokey eyes makeup isn't suitable for the oriental face, unless something else of contrast is donned, and it has to be on the face. Maybe really bright earrings, or some sort of head accessory. From what I''ve seen so far, I'm not sure if it applies to most, but at least this is what I feel, whenver I see females having smokey eye makeup, it just makes their face disappear more than stand out to the point that I don't know what I'm supposed to look at, like there's no focus or something...

Also with regards to false lashes, I sometimes think that they're overdone, like ridiculous, if they are the thin ones, yeah they do accentuate the eyes, but then there are those that are so thick that you immediately know those are false lashes, and seeing that lump of black, it's a real turn off for me and some even have decorations on the lashes, wow...a really big turn off for me...

I am now contemplating shaving my hair off and keep it that way. I just think that hair is troublesome, and yet useless, so why bother keeping it. I can always use hats or wigs if a need really calls for them. Easy change to apperance, and ultra easy maintenance...it's a good deal.

Back some time past, I mentioned not in here that I like Trance music. Well, actually shortly after revealing that, I found out the names of the kind of music that I really like. They are House and Hip-Hop. Now to be honest, I'm not entirely sure how Hip-Hop is supposed to sound, maybe the kind of Hip-Hop I like is different, and from my impression, yes it is different compared to the hip-hop as portrayed by south americans. But if it's classified as hip-hop, then that's how I will speak about it.

Now, these two genres of music, they actually share very similar qualities, the only obvious difference that I can use to differentiate is that hip-hop don't have huge kicks compared to house music. Now if you cannot stand Trance music from the fact that they lack lyrics. You'll be even more turned off by house and hip-hop music, because not only do they not have lyrics, their major pattern to music is 8 beats repeated 3 times. So you can expect major changes only every 32 beats, sometimes the change is not even major, so you might end up hearing the same thing for 64 beats and beyond, and that can make for a very boring piece at times. It really depends on the ear, house and hip-hop music are really a like or dislike kind of music. They may have catchy tunes, but the repetitiveness can sometimes prove to be too much of a bore.

Now talking about music, I think generally, the consensus of the common ear is convenience over quality. The convenience of mp3 has led to a huge decline in audio quality and most people are willing to accept that trade off. To be honest, some things that people listen to gets filtered as rubbish through my ears. I don't know, maybe it really is the concept of convenience that has stuck in people's head that they are willing to carry 1,000 mediocre quality music compared to maybe a lesser 700 quality music. Even though I don't use any entertainment-on-the-go devices anymore, there was once a period where I did. And I certainly do select what tracks I carry, and I make sure they are of quality. No hisses, no weird compression shit going, no clippings and volume must stay consistent. I did have some tracks that had volume going up and down for no reason and I immediately deleted those, because they simply spoil the experience.

I'm not one who fuss over Mono versus Stereo, if I can have Stereo I'll definitely take it, hell, if you can provide Surround, that's even better. But your bitrate and sampling rate had better be acceptable to me. A minimum standard that I do enforce is 16bit/44,100Hz, that equates to CD quality. Or if you're using some other audio software, you may see 128kbps. For the sake of simplicity, I'll just use kbps instead of differntiating between bitrate and sampling rate. Many people claim that it is useless to rip or encode CD audio into mp3 audio with higher bitrates since CD is always 16bit/44,100Hz, or 128kbps. but to be honest, I have done tests on ripping CDs, there are diferences between ripping at 128kbps, 160kbps and 192kbps. 192kbps is the closest to CD quality, but sometimes the fiile sizes scare me a little, and I compromise a little by choosing 160kbps.

Now that I have experience on video creation, and they usually offer a ton of options, I usually choose 24bit/48,000Hz whenever possible. It is personally for me the best tradeoff for quality and file size. But then again, audio is seriously very subjective, if you want to listen to stuff at 16bit/8,000Hz, who can fault you?

A few days back I was in a train, listening to a conversation among a group of four. Talking about what positions they were in for their latest qualifications, most probably examinations. So they went, "Hey, just nice, first, second, third and last" Then the attentioned was turned to the one who was last. "Last out of how many?" "Last out of 4." Very interesting, must be some sort of specialised studies to only have so few students per class. Anyway, that is not the main point, so there happened to be a foreigner among them, so one guy asked, "So you study in Singapore?" And the reply was, "Study in Singapore? No, I stu-DIED in Singapore." That made me want to laugh hard. Seriously, Normal english speaking Singaporeans should be ridiculed for their grammer, pronounciation and enunciation.

So last night I was walking back home, and because of the way I walk, I scared a lady. Now that made me think back, and indeed I have scared quite a number of people just from the way I walk, mostly girls...I remember the very first one, I was walking and catching up because of my speed, and going down some steps, but somehow I accidentally kicked the corner of the step and from silence came one loud boom that scared the crap out of the girl who was beside, she totally frozed...haha...

I sometimes wonder if the perception of humans have been framed and locked by society with only a few who are free from the matrix. There was one time I was waiting for a certain time to strike. So I was looking around, and out came a girl through a door in front of me. First thing I noticed was, her clothes looked good, so I just scanned from head to toe, then back up. This is hard to explain, so you'll need to imagine a little bit, my scan back up stopped at her chest level, simply because there's where the clothes start and stop. So from there, I wanted to look up and away to my left. But somehow, as I was looking away, our eyes met, and she saw that I last looked at her chest level, and she immediately looked down. In my mind, I went "Shit, just gave her the wrong idea." But then, I am curious, when she looked down, was she checking her grooming, or checking if she was revealing anything. Because of my experience with people, my mind automatically assumes the latter is more probably, while I believe in the former.

I saw an article talking about fashion quite some time back, and in it was written, men have it easier compared to women who have to dress up. True, in the past. I didn't check at what date that article was written, but I certainly don't agree for sure. As of now, females have it easier I think. T-shirt, shorts and slippers on a female is acceptable, fashionable to a certain extent. Throw that combination on a male and it becomes sloppy, at least for me. Seems like the males are stuck with trousers and covered shoes while the females can wear anything short of naked and still be considered normally dressed.

When I first engaged in the Japanese writing system, I really didn't like the way it worked. 3 writing system working in a language? I thought it was just ridiculous. But now that I am touching it again, and going more in-depth, I found out that hey, it actually is a very precise system. A page of text in hirigana is possible, but, context may be lost because there can be two sentences that read the exact same, but have different meanings altogether. That is where the kanji writing system kicks in. I've only recently discovered the beauty of that system, it speeds up reading and writing by quite a lot, especially for people who knows mandarin chinese.

Also previously, I thought I could lean the 3 separately, but to be honest, as of now, it is to my believe that you can't learn the 3 system separately, but have to embrace all 3 together just like how we learnt our first words.

In the pursuit of "beauty", females have been undergoing, sometimes enduring, treatment, products or services. That really is a general statement covering a wide spectrum, so let us narrow it down to the eyebrows. I am not entirely sure what exactly goes into plucking, drawing and filling of eyebrows, but one thing I know for sure, a majority of the results don't tally with my likings. I've seen only a handful that look "good" after handling their eyebrows.

Not that I am picky, just that in my books, a neat eyebrow does not equate to a better looking girl. In fact, with regards to the eyebrows, I am one who would prefer the thicker, often messier eyebrows nature would bestow. The trimmed eyebrow just looks way freakish to me. It feels like if you clean off the liner, they'll be no hair left.

Anyhow, that was kind of random, I have decided that for this blog, I will be bringing in all my old posts from the old blog back here. I realise that I sometimes will want to read the wisdom of old. Only thing is, they will require a lot of cleaning up as the old blog was flash based, and this current one is HTML based, loads of codes to clean up, I'll have to change the dates which was in Japanese if you didn't realise and to add search tags.

This, I've thought for a long time. The lights in the KPE starts out first with orange, and then a transition into white, the philosophy is that the orange light will help our eyes get accustomed to the bright white lights. But personally for me, the orange lights are the ones blinding me with the white being a lot milder, or is that the intention? I would think that it would have been better if it was first red, then a gradual change into white. Red, being the light with the shortest wavelength isn't going to be very harsh, but it's been set, nothing I can do.

While walking home the other night, I walked past a police patrol car, and then it drove away as the lights turned green. The first thing that struck me was, the car was incredibly silent. That's the second vehicle I've experienced being that silent. My first was a Mercedez made, this was Hyundai, but it's rare...very rare to have engines running that quiet that you don't even hear anything when the vehicle is moving.

Watching through my YouTube videos the other day really made me realise I've come a long way in that community. Sure my name isn't as widespread as some others, but still, it's been awesome. Going through all the games, recording them...not easy stuff...especially when I first started out on my now-gone laptop, couldn't afford high definition materials, now, I'm always churning videos out at least at 720p resolution. Personally for me, I would think 720p is the max I will render my videos for YouTube in, the trade-off between file size, quality and rendering times is much better comparing 720p versus 480p than 1080p versus 720p. Now I'm only exclusively uploading my SC2 videos...hm...nothing much to generate nowadays...I'll see..

In my previous post, I talked about upgrading my computer, and how the CPU is of lower priority because nothing can stress it out, well, actually there are some things that I do that can stress my CPU out. That is, video rendering. There are certain things I can and cannot do while video rendering. By can and cannot, it doesn't mean that I, or rather, my computer, have not the ability, just that it'll be handicapped. I can play games while rendering videos, but it'll turn into lag fest, it's tolerable if I play RTS games such as the only RTS that I play now, Starcraft 2. FPS, BlackShot, well, tolerable but I try to avoid it. Basically it is only the gaming side that I'm handicapped in when rendering videos, music, high-def movies, no problem. Another CPU intensive activity that I do is video recording, but the good thing about it is, I'm forced to go along what I'm doing, unlike video rendering where I have the freedom to get my computer to do some other stuff at the same time. It's kind of like a dilemma when I do rendering, because if I use my computer to do something else while rendering, it'll extend the rendering times, but if I just let it sit, I'll be real bored...best way, make the rendering times lesser and that is, upgrade.

But like I said before, that isn't my top priority, the only way for my games to really stress my computer out is only huge crazy battles in SC2, otherwise it'll be fine, and will be a waste of resources if I upgrade my CPU only to counter that, and to increase rendering speeds. At this point of time, I don't know what I'm talking about, seriously haha...you see the dilemma now too?

In just a few hours more than 9 days from today, my computer will be two years old. It has served me well, and I am thinking of upgrading it, which is a logical time with Sandy Bridge from Intel being released. So before, I get deeper, let's see what I'm running now. Asus P5Q Pro, Intel C2D E8400. 4X1GB RAM. Asus 9600GT. Asus Xonar DX. Western Digital 640GB Cavier Black. Western Digital 1.5TB Caviar Black.

To be honest, there isn't a real need to upgrade my computer at all, it can keep up with today's games and programs with no problems. But still, I do want to beef it up a little. A want rather than a need here. So what I'm looking at currently is to upgrade my 9600GT to a GTS450 which is the main important thing. A more powerful graphics card that runs at about the same level in terms of energy use and thermal dissipation. Besides games, nothing can stress my CPU out so it'll be fine the way it is. But of course, I will change it in times to come.

So what I'm looking at in the future is. An Intel i5-2500k. 4X2GB RAM. GTS450. Haven't chosen a motherboard as there isn't much news and products yet. But man, if I were to get that setup, my computer will last me for another 4-6 years at least.

Seriously, with my current setup, I can see that it'll last me another 2 years or so until an upgrade becomes needed by usual phenomenon. But currently, my aim is to get that GTS450, give a real big boost to my graphics power. Not that the 9600GT can't keep up, it still can, and it is a beast! For the money you pay, the power you get is absolutely fabulous. And I get to boast that I'm using legacy gear as there aren't many 9xxx series users now. But there is always that "want more" within us, with that GTS450, it's going to satisfy me for quite a long while.

So I read on the papers that china is going to build a high speed rail that runs through Laos, Thailand, Malaysia with final destination Singapore. I wonder how long the trip will take between two ends, 4 hours? Definitely faster than a plane I reckon. Well, I'm not entirely big on this train thing, the only thing that I am concerned is, how is the security going to be maintained.

Subconscious activities are carried out in our bodies day in, day out without thought to most people. But for certain people, even automatic activities initiated by the subconscious can be interrupted by the conscious or, by physical handicap or limitations. That activity I want to talk about is "Breathing". To most people, that is an activity done so smoothly that they forget about it, breathe in and out, breathe in harder and deeper when required, it's so automatic, so easy. But for some people like us, breathing is not entirely automatic, yeah sure it is automatic most of the time, but sometimes we lapse, and we need to remember to breathe. In times of extreme concentration or stress, our breathing will stop, or get to a point so low that it is equivalent to not breathing. Only point when we realise we're not breathing is when our head start thumping, and that extreme pain at the back right of our brain...holy crap...it is awesome. Pain is a good teacher, yeah, but it doesn't last, whenever it happens to us, we'll repeatedly tell ourselves to breathe, breathe, breathe, but after a while, we forget again and the cycle repeats.

Then when we relate these tales to people, they simply don't believe it and tune us out. Sometimes, people, when they have their own ideas and believes, they try to shove it down other people's necks and refuse to take in any others. They hear of something that doesn't tally with them, they shut it out. Back when we were talking about games to some people, we told them how in Korea, there is this dude notorious for winning competitions in the game of StarCraft using unorthordox methods, unorthordox, but hilarious, and it is legit. When the game started, he used his own starting units to attack his own building until it is on fire. Then he told his opponent through the in-game chat that he got bugged, and need a restart. Opponent checked, thought it was real, and left the game to "restart" but caused himself to lose. Because, they weren't using WCG rules, first to leave the game loses. So that was that, we told them, they don't believe, coming up with all sorts of rebutals, "There must be some judges watching." There was, "It wasn't a legit competition." StarCraft is a national sport and is bloody big in Korea, would they feature a non-legit compeition on TV? Then being stumped and unable to counter, they came up with some lousy lines and then shut out. We especially love the end reactions people give, it's just so funny.

Game game game, play play play. I have done that for long. From newer 3D standalone games, back to the classics of old, I play all sorts of games. A good old Microsoft keyboard used to be able to satisfy my demands. But as I dwelve into more genre of games, the general keyboards no longer can keep up to my pace. Thus, I got myself a Razer Tarantula keyboard. That, is one good keyboard. I've used it for years and somehow, something stuck out, the keyboard's big, riddle with media keys that I don't use at all, so I've been waiting for Razer to come up with keyboards, yeah sure they do, Lycosa, Arctosa, the upcoming Anansi, but the one that really got my attention was their BlackWidow Ultimate. Full LED backlighting, that I need. Dedicated macro keys, that I need. Mechanical keys, that I need but of lower priority. That was like the ultimate keyboard for me, so I was waiting waiting waiting until the stock hit our local stores. So on the week they were supposed to be sold here, I went down to the shops, tested the mechanical keys, they rock. And saw that it wasn't the Ultimate version, enquired when they would arrive, 1 week later, at a retail price of SGD199. So at that point, I thought to myself, okay, no problem, I'll have 7 days worth of research, and an excuse to go down to bugis again haha!

After 4 days of research, from a "Get-the-keyboard!" attitude to a "Screw-it" attitude. That's right, I'm giving the BlackWidow Ultimate a miss. It's bullshit, all that hype, those features, and Razer didn't even get the basics right. What made the Tarantula a good keyboard didn't carry over into the BlackWidow. In my opinion, the BlackWidow is just like your average microsoft keyboard given a paintjob and decked out with fancy features, but it is still a normal keyboard. Much like pimping your ride. Give custom bumpers, skirts, wings, racing stripes, neon lights to your 1.3 Toyota VIOS, mash the accelerator and it still is a 1.3.

Hell, the BlackWidow is a 2KRO keyboard, what the heck! I would expect it to be a NKRO keyboard if it costs 199 bucks. My older, cheaper, legacay Tarantula is at least 6KRO, although online reports say that it is NKRO, I somehow can only achieve 6KRO max, probably because I'm not in Turbo mode. For those of you who are overwhelmed by these terminology, KRO stands for Key Rollover. 2 KRO means that a maximum of 2 keys can be held before the keyboard fails to type your letters. A typical example I love to use is, hold down zxc, and try typing a v. If you can do it, hold down zxcv and try typing a b.There are some other matrixes like qsd, but I'm most familiar with zxcv, so I always use that.

It really is a good thing the stock hadn't arrived, which gave me time to do my research, or I would have been pissed to pay top dollar for a keyboard and get blocked when I'm gaming. As of now, the wait continues.

I remember reading a news article from many months ago, about this woman who committed suicide by jumping from the fifth storey of her home. And somehow, some way, the husband reached her side. I can't exactly remember what was written, but here was what he said. "Her pulse was very weak, and I administered CPR. Then, she slowly stopped moving." Upon finishing reading up till the stopped moving part, my brain just formulated these words. "Aw, you just killed your wife." Even though I have no knowledge as to what kind of CPR he administered, I am pretty sure, that CPR was unnecessary and was what hastened the woman's death.

There has been an influx of TV commercials from Japan directly, and as I was watching TV last night, I saw an artiste that I like featured in the advertisement, and I'm like "Hm??? Finally?"

Movies, I do enjoy watching them, and have a couple of favorite titles. But, I am not a cinema goer, I very much rather watch movies from the comforts of my home. I don't see any disadvantage with doing that. My computer's pretty powerful now, no problems playing blu-ray movies. I have good sound systems both for my TV and my computer which are pretty even when stacked against one another, although I would put the one for the TV ahead because 5.1 systems are better supported compared to the 7.1 I have for my PC. But, if I would really want true home theater sound quality, I probably can run HDMI out to my TV which I think I might try, just to see what I'll get. Advantages are a plenty, you get food and drinks anytime at your disposal, the very handy pause button anytime you want, with the ability to go back and re-watch what you missed during your attention lapse and/or to confirm any funny mistakes made. But that is not my main point today.

I am not entirely sure, how the MDA filters titles to be played in Singapore. But, I have been largely surprised at how stupid their decisions can be. I ran a title search yesterday, and came across unbelievable titles. Saw VII, I was lost for a moment as I counted the Roman numericals and arrived at the number 7. Wow...even though I've never watched a single Saw movie, I believe it is just like your average kill'em-all-with-a-vengeance movie. I mean, how stupid that Saw can show all 7 episodes here, from head to end and yet we can't have Death Race 2 here? Have you heard of Death Race? Yes, but Death Race 2? I don't believe I have EVER heard of it until I ran that search yesterday. True that Death Race can be seen as a standalone proper, but if there's a continuation, why strip us of that privilege if you can show 7 episodes of saw?

Maybe MDA is trying to cut down on the sex scenes shown on the screens. Death Race 2 has one, albeit short, but 300 has one too and it showed more than what Death Race 2 showed. But then, what about The Expandables? Zero sex scenes, not a lot of gore and it makes sense. Probably because it is brainless, much like your '80s movies where people can shoot and kill in quite unbelievable ways, but, it makes for an enjoyable experience, why not?

Sometimes, these entities just make the weirdest of decisions. I don't know, maybe they don't see the returns in vesting in a film. But if it was me, I will just keep buying and showing any films. A film brings people to the cineplexes, and that means very possible flow to the retail shops, that means possible monetary exchanges, that means cashflow, which means sustaining economy. Why not?

Watching news reports on TV has turned from information load, to entertainment. Age 16 was a pivotal year for me, that was the year where I gained insight into the lies the media wants you to believe. To keep you under control, the stuff they want you to hear. Best thing of it all is, they make it look like the truth. Last I remember, statistics show that there'll be one man dead from smoking every thirty second. Do you really believe so? Yes the world may be huge, world population may be near 7 billion. But, to have someone die in thirty seconds all over the world, is that even possible? Taking that figure, it adds up to 15,768,000 deaths in a year, just from smoking, and it is occuring non stop. That is the way statistics work. You have to go deep, how long was the survey conducted, that is the key. How did the smokers die, did they die purely from smoking? Are there any complicating factors? I mean, if a guy started smoking a week ago, and he died in a traffic accident today, is that a dead smoker? Yes. Statistics are funny stuff to see and hear. I could run a 3 day survey on Rolls Royce and deduce that there will be 1 engine failure everyday for engines used in the A380 airbus. Aviation disaster anyone?

Next up, which NEVER fails to crack me up. Singapore's economy has been on the rise and future growth to be expected. I don't know how many times I have heard that. Is it true, yes, but only to specific industries or individuals. Let us look closer within these few years. After the sub-prime rubbish, then came the Lehman Brothers crap and then came a period of peace where Singapore's economy supposedly grew by 100%. WOW! AMAZING, NOT! Growing by 100% does not make you equal to prior the fall all the time. You need to grow more than 100% in order to even it. Have we done it? I doubt it. Example. You have 100 apples. You lost 60 apples. Which means you have 40 left. Then you grew apples on your own and achieved a harvest that is 100% to your current number. So that's 40 + 40 = 80. But hey? You're not at 100 yet? That of course, like I said, can be broken, if I lost 1 apple, growing by 100% will put me way beyond my previous high. But let us look with context. After the 2 above-mentioned crises. Is it possible that economic growth fell below 50, or even become negative? Very possible, pay cuts? What about retrenchment, the big hitter. Not able to find jobs for new blood. All that is just confined to the 2 crises. After that, we have the Dubai thing, then came Greece, then now we have the Korean saga. It really makes me wonder, what the true economic level of Singapore really is.

If our economic situation has improved, I would expect everyone's lives to improved, no matter how small the gain, there should be something improved. But no, the cleaners still command a meager paycheck. Sales assistants, attendants, their lives aren't very much improved either. This is identified as, taking results yielded from a small group, and applying it to all spectrums. In my opinion, the real growth came from pharmaceutical, construction and finance industry. So, the only individuals that really benefitted, are from these industries. Perhaps a pay rise, maybe more and bigger bonuses and stuff. While the rest in an isolated service sector, remained the same. Can that really be called an improvement in the economy?

Affordable housing, for everyone. That is the tagline for HDB if I am not mistaken. But, is housing really affordable now? HDB prices now are 10 times what it used to be. But are our wages, 10 times what it used to be? Not for all. My parents bought their home for 27,000 roughly. Current valuation, 290 - 350k. That IS 10 times the price. What about my parents' income levels now, 10 times what it used to be? No, on average, they command 8 times what it used to be, which, okay, fair enough, is pretty close to the expected 10 times. But, for people with no to low education, the difference is marked. What about educated individuals? A degree holder in the past, a monthly income of what, 1,200? Now, is he earning 12,000? Hell no, 2,200 on average for starters, about 3 - 5,000 for rotters. What happened? Oh I don't know, HDB says it is affordable, so I just swallow it and believe it. Ha!

Anyway, by "rotters" I have not any derogatory intent, I am just saying by the time you command that sort of pay, you're probably past 30, maybe already 50. Starting to rot and preparing to lie down with earthworms, ants, beetles, rabbits, mice and whatever what not for company.
